TOKYO (Reuters) – Leaders of the group of atomic bomb survivors awarded this yr’s Nobel Peace Prize emphasised on Saturday the current threat from nuclear weapons and renewed their name to abolish nuclear weapons.
“There’s at the moment a threat of nuclear warfare… we should eradicate that threat,” Terumi Tanaka, the co-head of the Nihon Hidankyo group stated at a press convention, with out specifying any nations.
In awarding the survivors, the Nobel Prize committee highlighted the Japanese group’s decades-long work to rid the world of nuclear weapons.
